Oil on 7x5 canvas panel.
This is my contribution to this week's WDE at Wet Canvas. Dewi was the super host with super reference photos.
I really liked the concentrating cat! I wondered what would he be looking at so intently?? So I added the guest.
This is oil on a 7x5 canvas panel.
C&C welcome. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment!
1 Peter 5:10, "And the God of all grace, who called you to his eternal glory in Christ, after you have suffered a little while, will himself restore you and make you strong, firm and steadfast."
Don't laugh, Dean, but I really am in awe of how you did the nose and mouth. I know...everyone usually remarks on the amazing eyes, but I already know how well you do them. I can almost hear those neat noises cats make when watching their prey, Love the fun behind this too.
ReplyDelete...gorgeous, great concentration in kitties eyes :-)
ReplyDeleteThe cat is beautifully painted, Dean. I love the pattern on his face and of course his dinner guest is perfect!!!
ReplyDeleteSo whimsical and delightful! And I was reminded of Disney's Cinderella and the intensity of the cat who wanted to eat those lovely sewing mice!!
ReplyDeleteSuch a cute painting! It tells a cute little story!
ReplyDeleteDean, you captured the intensity of the cat tracking that mouse. Great job.
ReplyDeleteGood morning Dean!... Painting physical subjects... even those that are painted well... can only be elevated to a higher level of meaning... when relationships can be felt through expressions captured or a state such as the compositional tension that you have created with your mere mouse! Bravo Dean!
ReplyDeleteGood Painting!
Warmest regards,
Bruce
