Buffalo #2-Western Art

Oil on 9x12 archival canvas panel.
I painted quite a few of these great subjects (buffalo) in the recent past and achieved a few collectors. May be time to do several more to see if they're still around. Anyhoo, I enjoy doing them. Hope y'all like it.

    Owl

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel. This was originally posted on June 7th. It received very little reaction at all. When that happens, I usually tend to wonder...'what's wrong with it?' After looking the painting over this morning, I decided to kick it up a notch.
I punched up the value range and added more exciting chroma. I feel it is improved.

    Buffalo Silhouette

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.

This painting was done by applying the paints thickly in selected locations. Both knife & brush were used. The directional textured strokes add greatly to the surface interest.
I did my darndest to match the colors and values, but couldn't get as close as I usually do. Just let me say, if you like these subdued images, you will love the real McCoy.

    Acrylic Landscape #2

Acrylic on 5x7... 3/16 thick gessoed masonite panel.
Once again, an acrylic landscape done in many layers of transparent washes. To finish, I used opaque strokes of lighter more saturated color to 'turn on the lights'.

    Rooster

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
I have done quite a few roosters in the recent past...thought it was time for another. I enjoy all the color and attitude of pride which roosters exhibit. The oils were applied thickly in selected areas.
    Hope you enjoy!!

    Sunrise Landscape

Acrylic on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
Something a bit different today. Here's an acrylic which was done with many transparent layers, then completed with some opaque strokes. I painted(and sold) a few of these several years ago before I became completely captivated by oils.
This style was first spotted by me on Wet Canvas by a successful artist who went by the name of MJT. I told him how much I liked his work, and he said go ahead and try it. We corresponded a lot...he was very gracious and sharing artist. Thanks, MJT!!

    Cherries...The Trio

Oil on 5x7 archival canvas panel.
This one was posted in March...put on hold for a gentleman...but it turns out his taste changed and he bought apples instead. So it's up for grabs again!
