Colorful Rabbit

Still working as time will allow on large commissioned work. So here's another blast from the past. I liked this one for the brush & painting knife work plus the inventive color.

Sunset Meadow

This is acrylic on 5x7 masonite panel. In this painting I used many transparent layers of acrylic in order to achieve the effects I was after. It was done some time ago. I'm posting it now to sorta test the water...By your reaction to it (or lack of reaction), I can tell whether to do more of this kind or not. Click on image to see larger version. Sold

Cricket

If I keep this up, I may have to rename my blog from Deanos Den to Breezeway Buddies ;). Here's a cricket who came to the end of its music making in my breezeway...much like my pal the dragonfly from a few posts back. When I took the time to paint it, I realized there's a lot more to a cricket than I had ever imagined.

I won't put this artwork up for auction for a few days. I want to time this auction so that Thanksgiving won't compete with my views on this item. If you are interested in purchasing this painting before I list it on eBay, email me and we will make arrangements.

Bears...The Confrontation

This piece has an added element which isn't usually included in my other paintings...drama. I tried to support this element through my selection of color and composition.

Elvis Tribute

I have been an admirer of Elvis ever since he first put on those Blue Suede Shoes. In his latter years, he projected more of himself and became even more charismatic.

Standing Bear

Here's my ol' friend, the standing brown bear. This painting has been on my blog twice before. The 1st time, there was little reaction, so for take #2 I repainted the background which I felt was a nice improvement. Still not much reaction which in my thinking = a flop. This time I repainted the sky and did a lot of work on the bear. Well, here he is again all groomed and brushed out, ready for inspection. Hope you like it.

If you think that I'm stubborn...maybe I am (a little...Lol). But the larger fact is that I look upon this repainting as a challenge in problem solving. A very helpful learning tool.

Oil on 14x11 archival canves panel.

Textured Cat

Ahhh! It always feels good to lay the strokes on thickly and just let the paint do it's "thing". I really enjoyed doing this one.
